The Chilean government has applied a provisional, ad-valorem anti-dumping (AD) duty of 40.6 percent over the Chinese imports of wire rod, following an investigation from the country’s price distortion commission, CNDP.

According to a resolution published at the nation’s official gazette, the duties will be applied for up to four months from October 22 and include drawing or mesh quality wire rod with a diameter of 16mm or less.

The products subject to the provisional AD duties currently fall under the following Chilean HS codes: 7213.2000, 7213.9110, 7213.9120, 7213.9190, 7213.9900, 7227.1000, 7227.2000 and 7227.9000.

Additionally, cold heading quality (CHQ) wire rod is excluded from the 40.6 percent tariff.
