Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Co. has announced that its subsidiary Chengde Iron and Steel Company (Chengde Steel) has a carried out a successful hot run test on its new four-strand continuous slab caster.
The caster in question will produce steel slabs in 165 mm x 400/450/525 mm sizes. Output will include ordinary carbon structural steel, premium carbon structural steel, low-alloy structural steel, pipeline steel and spring steel. The designed annual production capacity is 1 million mt.
