According to the most recent report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending November 3, the Canadian rig count fell by 23 to 476, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 59 rigs.

On the other hand, the US rig count increased by five to 2,026 in the last week, and is up 343 rigs from last year. Gas rigs fell by 27 last week to 907, and are down 48 year-on-year. But the decline in gas rigs was more than offset by a 34 oil rig count increase that brought the total of rigs drilling for oil to 1,078, up 394 year-on-year.
