Canadian investors interested in developing mining projects in Bolivia

Canadian diversified coal and vanadium production company Prophecy Development Corporation is interested in investing in the Bolivian mining segment, according to a Bolivian government official.

Bolivia’s mining ministry said the vice president of operations at Prophecy Development Corporation held a meeting with the country’s minister of mining and metallurgy, Cesar Navarro, to discuss the matter. Bolivia’s general manager for Prophecy also joined the meeting.

According to Navarro, Bolivia will prepare proposals to further boost investments in the country. The Bolivian ministry said both the Canadian company and the Canadian government are interested in working with and investing in the Bolivian mining segment.

Bolivia’s government agreed to invite the Canadian embassy and Prophecy Development Corporation to hold a meeting to advance talks. Bolivia’s Mining Corporation, Comibol, will also be invited to join the proposed meeting.

Prophecy is also engaged in the acquisition and development of vanadium projects.
