Brazil's motor vehicle exports in 2011 totaled 541,568 units, with a 7.7 percent of increase from the previous year, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). The revenue generated by these exports came to $15.5 billion, increasing by 20.6 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle output in 2011 increased by 0.7 percent from the previous year to 3,406,150 units. The country's passenger car output in 2011 decreased two percent year on year to 2,534,534 unit, while its light commercial vehicle output rose 7.3 percent year on year to 607,781 units.
According to the report, total new motor vehicle registrations in Brazil amounted to 3,633,248 units in 2011, increasing 3.4 percent compared to 2010. 23.6 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.
