Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 32.77 million mt in December last year, decreasing 6.8 compared to the same month of 2016, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in December totaled $1.53 billion in value, decreasing 13.5 percent year on year.
In December, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 898,700 mt, up by 14.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $439.1 million, increasing by 61.7 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in December Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 319,600 metric tons, up by 8.4 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $227.3 million, up 31.6 percent from the December 2016 level.
