iron ore export volume amounted to 31.77 million mt in October this year, decreasing by 3.94 percent compared to September and down 2.28 percent compared to the same month of 2013, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.

iron ore export value in October totaled $1.89 billion, decreasing by 15.09 percent compared to the previous month and down 41.28 percent year on year.

Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 631,500 mt, decreasing by 22.72 percent compared to the previous month and up 12.34 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $301.4 million, decreasing 26.25 percent compared to September and up 9.93 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in October
Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 312,900 metric tons, increasing 29.98 percent from September and up 416.19 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $225.2 million, increasing by 34.68 percent month on month and up 259.3 from the October 2013 level.
