Brazil's iron ore exports down by 19.9 percent in September

Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 27.14 million mt in September this year, decreasing by 19.9 percent compared to the same month of 2018, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in September totaled $1.84 billion in value, increasing by 4.5 percent year on year.

In September, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 509,028 mt, down by 39.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $228.9 million, decreasing by 55 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in September Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 225,977 metric tons, up by 221.4 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $126.16 million, up 129.1 percent from the September 2018 level.
