Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 26.8 million mt in May, rising 4.9 percent compared to April this year and up by 1.4 percent compared to the same month of 2011, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in May this year increased by 7.2 percent compared to the previous month and fell by 23.7 percent compared to the same month of 2011, totaling $2.75 billion.
In May of the current year, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 656,300 mt, increasing 7.8 percent compared to the previous month and remaining almost stable compared to the same month of 2011, while these exports were valued at $396.7 million, increasing 9.3 percent compared to April and down 15.8 percent year on year.
