Brazil industrial output in November last year declined by 2.4 percent month on month and by 12.4 percent year on year, according to figures released this week by the nation’s Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The IBGE said the country’s industrial production in the January-November period diminished by 8.1 percent year on year, while production in the latest 12 months decreased by 7.7 percent year on year.
According to the IBGE, among the 10 sectors that increased production in November, the best performance was registered by motor vehicles and trailers with an increase of 1.3 percent month on month. In November, prices of intermediate goods and durable consumer goods showed the sharpest falls with 3.8 percent and 3.2 percent respectively, compared to the previous month.
