Brazil's flat and long outputs up

Brazilian Steel Association IBS has disclosed that the country's flat and long steel production recorded an increase in February 2007. Flat steel output rose 27.4 percent year on year to 1.16 million metric tons in February. Meanwhile, long steel production amounted to around 714,000 metric tons in February, up 1.5 percent year on year. In the first two months of 2007, flat steel output rose 14.3 percent year on year to 2.46 million metric tons, while long steel output increased 2.1 percent year on year to 1.46 million metric tons. Brazil's domestic sales rose 12.2 percent year on year to 1.41 million metric tons in the second month of 2007.
