The Brazilian government released a study this week with the aim of improving the transportation of iron ore, one of the country’s most exported products.

According to the government, the study “maps out” the production and transportation chains of the iron ore and related sectors, including pellets and pig iron, while evaluating the nation’s infrastructure and needs.

The study said the iron ore chain is a strategic sector for the local economy, and Brazil needs to improve its share in the exports of the product globally.

“The improvement of infrastructure will positively impact both the transport operations and the productive chains that use the same transportation routes,” the study said.
