Sales of flat steel by Brazilian distributors in November increased 2.3 percent, year-on-year, to 254,400 mt, the country’s steel distributors association (Inda) said Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison, flat steel distributor sales in November dropped 4.7 percent from 267,000 mt in October.
Purchases of flat steel by local distributors in November grew 7.7 percent, year-on-year, and 7.2 percent, month-on-month, to 276,000 mt.
Distributors’ flat steel inventory in November improved 2.4 percent, month-on-month, to 907,500 mt. Inventory turnover in November rose to 3.6 months from 3.4 months in October.
Imports of flat steel by distributors in November grew 2.3 percent, year-on-year, but diminished 24.2 percent, month-on-month, to 89,400 mt.
Inda forecasted both the sales and purchases of flats in December to decline about 12 percent, month-on-month.
