Brazil’s ministry of economy has extended existing anti-dumping (AD) duties over the imports of heavy plate from South Africa, China, South Korea and Ukraine for a further five-year period.

The AD duties cover a range of products, including flat low carbon and low alloyed heavy plates with a thickness equal or greater than 4.75 mm, and with a width equal or superior to 600 mm. The products subject to the duties fall under the HS Mercosur codes 7208.51.00 and 7208.52.00.

The ministry of economy said imports of the product coming from South Africa will pay a $166.63/mt AD duty, while Chinese imports of heavy plates will pay $211.56/mt and South Korean heavy plate imports will pay $135.84/mt.

The Brazilian ministry of economy said all Ukrainian imports either coming from Metinvest or any other producer will pay $52.02/mt in tariffs.
