BHP, Baosteel in technical cooperation

Australian miner BHP Billiton and China's Baosteel Group inked an agreement to carry out joint technical research in order to enhance the use of raw materials in iron and steel making. According to the agreement, the two companies will participate in long-term specific joint technical studies in order to understand better how the characteristics of the raw materials used to make steel impact on steel plant operations, and help optimise the iron and steelmaking processes. The parties believe that the agreement will be a significant customer-supplier aliance.
