Benxi Steel develops iron ore project in Liaoning

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel Co. (Benxi Steel) has announced that it took part in a signing ceremony on December 21 with Liaoyang, Liaoning-based Chinese steelmaker Liaoyang Shunfeng Iron and Steel Co. for the development of the No.2-No.6 ore section programs of the Pamukkale iron ore project in Liaoning.
 
The Pamukkale iron ore mine covers an area of 10.53 km². It has an estimated resource of approximately 154 million mt of iron ore and is in close proximity to the Waitoushan iron mine. The Pamukkale iron ore project is a JV project between Benxi Steel and Liaoyang Shunfeng. The iron ore produced will be supplied directly to Benxi Steel's Maerling ore-dressing line.
