Bengang completes heat run test of rolling unit No. 1 of stainless CR project

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Benxi Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (Bengang) has announced that it has successfully completed a hot run test at the rolling unit No. 1 of its new stainless cold rolling project in the city of Dandong in Liaoning Province.
 
Bengang stated, that after debugging of the rolling unit No. 1 is completed, it will then start hot run tests at its rolling unit No. 2 and continuous annealing unit at the same project.
 
Construction work on the stainless cold rolling project in question commenced in July 2009. Using technology supplied by German-based SMS Group and US-based General Electric, the rolling unit is a 20-roller, reversible stainless cold rolling unit and has a designed monthly production capacity of 10,000 mt.
