Bengang Steel Plates Co., a subsidiary of Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Benxi Steel Group Corporation, has issued its financial results for the first half of the current year, announcing an estimated net profit of RMB 120-180 million ($20-28.5 million), down 69.77-79.85 percent compared with a net profit of RMB 595 million ($94.1 million) in the same period last year.

Benxi Steel Plates stated that in the first half of the current year it was negatively impacted by the sharp decrease in steel sales prices amid sluggish steel market conditions, despite the slight decline in fuel costs.
