BC Iron achieves 6 million mt iron ore production at Nullagine JV

Australian iron ore producer BC Iron Limited has announced that its Nullagine iron ore joint venture located in the Pilbara region, Western Australia has achieved its updated nameplate target production rate of 6 million mt per year of iron ore.

During April and May of the current year, the joint venture shipped over 1 million mt of ore in six separate capesize vessels to confirm a sustainable 6 million mt per year production rate. The Nullagine project has now shipped approximately 8.3 million mt of iron ore since the first shipment in February 2011.

Nullagine iron ore project is a joint venture between BC Iron and Australia-based Fortescue, with the former having a 75 percent stake and the latter holding the remaining 25 percent.
