Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region-based Chinese steelmaker Bayi Iron and Steel Co. (Bayi Steel), a subsidiary of Shanghai-based major Chinese steel group Baosteel, has announced that its rebar deliveries in the first quarter of the current year totaled 330,000 mt.

In addition, Bayi Steel stated that it has switched its entire rebar production to production of earthquake-resistant rebar products. Bayi Steel has thus become the first supplier of earthquake-resistant rebar in Xinjiang. The rebar in question produced by Bayi Steel includes HRB 335E, HRB 400E and HRB 500E grades, in 13 specifications.

So far in the current year, in addition to Xinjiang, Bayi Steel has focused its sales of earthquake-resistant rebar on the provinces of Hebei, Yunan and Jiangsu.
