Baosteel special steel shuts down continuous billet caster
According to Shanghai-based Chinese steel giant Baosteel, its special steel division has permanently shut down a continuous billet caster. Commissioned in March 1997, the continuous billet caster in question produced 4 million mt of large-size billets over of a period of almost 15 years. The shutdown of the continuous caster comes within the scope of restructuring work being carried out by Baosteel.
