Chinese giant steel producer Baosteel has stated that its nickel costs per metric ton of steel in its 300 series stainless steel production hit an historic low in May this year.

In the second quarter of the current year, Baosteel began to use more low-priced nickel in the production of its 300 series stainless steel products, in order to avoid production risks caused by the fluctuations seen in the raw material market.
