Baosteel-Nippon Steel Auto Sheet starts construction of HDG line No. 4

On November 25, major Chinese steelmaker Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. (Baosteel) announced that on November 20 Baosteel-Nippon Steel Auto Sheet Co., the Shanghai-based joint venture of Baosteel and Japan's Nippon Steel Corporation, started construction work on its hot dip galvanizing line No. 4. The new production line will have an annual output capacity of 420,000 mt of high-strength hot dip galvanized steel sheet for the automotive sector.

Baosteel-Nippon Steel Auto Sheet will produce HDG sheet of 100 kg/mm2 tensile strength at the HDG line No. 4, while at present it is able to produce HDG sheet with tensile strength of up to 80 kg/mm2.
