Azerbaijan plans to develop metallurgical industry by constructing four new plants

According to local reports, four new metallurgical plants are planned to be constructed in Azerbaijan.

According to Mr. Mehmet Kaya, general director of mining company Dashkesan Filizsaflashdirma (DFS), which is owned by Azeri industrial group Det.Al Group of Companies (DETAL), with the aim of producing iron ore and using it as a raw material for steel production, four new plants are planned to be constructed in the Dashkesan region of Azerbaijan, two in Ganja and two in Dashkesan.

The company is planning to mine about five million mt of iron ore a year in Dashkesan and to annually produce one million mt of iron.

The investment in these project totals $700 million.
