In late July (July 21-31) this year, the average prices in China of coking coal and second-grade metallurgical coke were recorded at RMB 1,030.0/mt ($153.3/mt) and RMB 1,684.0/mt ($250.6/mt), increasing by RMB 7.5/mt ($1.1/mt) and RMB 46.2/mt ($6.9/mt), compared to prices in mid-July (July 11-20), i.e., up 0.7 percent and 2.8 percent respectively , as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on August 4.
