In late May (May 21-31) this year, the average price in China of coking coal was recorded at RMB 1,180.0/mt ($186.4/mt), remaining stable, while the average price of second-grade metallurgical coke was RMB 1,928.9/mt ($300.9/mt), up by RMB 175.4/mt ($27.4/mt) or 10.0 percent, both compared to prices in mid-May (May 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
