Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up 2.6 percent in early August

In early August (August 1-10) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 4,306.8/mt ($626.0/mt), RMB 4,459.7/mt ($648.2/mt), RMB 4,423.7/mt ($643.0/mt), RMB 4,377.6/mt ($636.3/mt), RMB 5,242.3/mt ($762.0/mt) and RMB 4,378.5/mt ($636.4/mt), increasing by RMB 110.5/mt ($16.1/mt), RMB 100.5/mt ($14.6/mt), RMB 50.6/mt ($7.4/mt), RMB 34.0/mt ($4.9/mt), RMB 55.4/mt ($8.1/mt) and RMB 57.4/mt ($8.4/mt), i.e., up 2.6 percent, 2.3 percent, 1.2 percent, 0.8 percent, 1.1 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively, compared to prices in late July (July 21-30), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
