Automotive sales in Turkey down 49.57 percent in Jan-May

In May this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 54.62 percent year on year to 33,016 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey declined by 52.60 percent year on year to 27,126 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 62.07 percent year on year to 5,890 units.

Meanwhile, in the first five months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 49.57 percent year on year, amounting to 152,456 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 48.71 percent to 120,354 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 52.56 percent to 32,102 units, both on year-on-year basis.
