Australia’s Antidumping Commission has announced that it has initiated an expiry review regarding antidumping measures on hot rolled structural steel (HSS) imports from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand which are due to expire on November 20, 2019.
According to the commission’s statement, the antidumping measures on the mentioned products were initially imposed in November 2014. Upon Liberty Steel’s application, the commission has decided to initiate the expiry review, covering the period between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. The Antidumping Commission is expected to make a recommendation to the Minister of Industry, Science and Technology based on the outcome of the inquiry, no later than July 16, 2019.
The products subject to the expiry review are currently classified under the following codes in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS): 7216.31.00, 7216.32.00, 7216.33.00, and 7216.40.00.
The commission has also started an expiry review regarding AD measures on quenched and tempered steel plate imports from Finland, Japan and Sweden, which are due to expire on November 5, 2019 and were initially imposed on November 6, 2014.
The commission will examine the period between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 in order to make a decision on the continuation of the AD measures on these three countries. The commission is expected to submit its recommendation to the minister no later than March 20, 2019.
The products subject to the expiry review are currently classified under the following codes in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS): 7225.40.00 and 7225.99.00.
