Australia’s Antidumping Commission has announced that it has imposed new antidumping duties and countervailing duty on imports of hot rolled steel from China following an investigation for the period between October 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024.
The Commissioner has found:
- exports of the goods from China in relation to all exporters from that country were dumped during the investigation period and that the volume of dumped goods and the margin of dumping was not negligible,
- exports of the goods from China in relation to all exporters from that country, except Baoshan, Zhanjiang, Meishan and LY Steel, were subsidized during the investigation period and that the volume of subsidized goods and the margin of subsidization was not negligible,
- dumped and subsidized exports of the goods from China have caused material injury to the Australian industry producing like goods.
Dumping margins are determined at 59.1 percent for Baoshan, 38.1 percent for Zhanjiang, 54.9 percent for Meishan, 41.6 percent for LY Steel and 79.0 percent for all other Chinese companies. Meanwhile, subsidy margins at 1.7 percent for Baoshan, 0.3 percent for Zhanjiang, 1.4 percent for Meishan and LY Steel were found negligible, while subsidy margin for all other Chinese exporters was determined at 3.4 percent.
