Atlas Iron’s iron ore output up 6% in Sept. quarter from June quarter

Australian iron ore miner Atlas Iron has announced that it shipped three million wet metric tons of iron ore in the quarter ended on September 30, falling by three percent compared to the previous quarter. In the September quarter, the company's iron ore production amounted to 2.97 million mt, up six percent quarter on quarter.

The company stated that in the given quarter it converted its crushing plant at the Mt Dove site to a lump and fines circuit to increase its proportion of lump product, which is currently generating a higher margin.
