Australia-based mining and materials company Arrium Limited has announced that it produced a record 2.96 million mt of iron ore in the third quarter of the current year, up 23 percent compared to the previous quarter. The company's iron ore shipments in the given quarter amounted to 3.13 million mt, increasing by 15 percent quarter on quarter, reaching a quarterly record. The increase reflects the full commissioning of the expanded supply chain at the Inner Harbor. Arrium also sold 40,000 mt of iron ore pellets in the given quarter.

Arrium said that with the current run rate it expects a full-year production volume of 12 million mt.
