Spain-based technology supplier Sarrelle has announced that it will modernize global steelmaker ArcelorMittal’s Belval plant in Luxembourg.

Sarralle will supply a new 155-mt electric arc furnace, will upgrade the six-strand continuous casting machine and some other equipment, maximizing efficiency, increasing product quality, and reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The plant is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2025.

Belval plant has an annual production capacity of 1.3 million mt of beam blanks and blooms.
