ArcelorMittal Temirtau, Kazakhstan-based subsidiary of the world's largest steel producer ArcelorMittal, may lose its mining license for the Abaiskaya mine due to safety reasons. 30 miners were killed as a result of a methane blast at the mine in January.

Kazakh Emergency Minister Vladimir Vozhko has warned ArcelorMittal that, if appropriate measures to insure the safety of miners are not taken, the license could be withdrawn.
