ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih starts to install continuous casting billet mill

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian subsidiary of Luxembourg-based steel giant ArcelorMittal, has started to install its continuous casting billet mill. The steelmaker had announced the beginning of the construction of its new continuous casting complex one year ago. The complex is due to start production operations in September of the current year.

The estimated capacity of the six-strand billet conticaster No. 1 is 1.2 million mt of steel per year. The mill will produce square billets with 150 mm cross-section and of 9-12 m in length. The equipment will be supplied by Siemens VAI (Austria).
