ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih completes reconstruction of sintering machine No. 5

ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih, Ukraine-based subsidiary of the world's largest integrated metals and mining company ArcelorMittal, has announced that it has started hot testing of the sintering machine No. 5 after its reconstruction, which was implemented as part of an investment program which includes ecological and technical modernization of its sinter shop No. 2. The investment for the modernization of the sintering machine No. 5 totaled $25 million.

According to Dmitry Scherbak, project manager of the company’s Investment and Engineering Department, the aim of the reconstruction is to reduce the environmental impact of production, to reduce the level of dust and gas emissions, to improve the technical reliability of equipment and the productivity of the workshop, and to reduce energy costs.
