ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, Ukraine-based subsidiary of the world's largest steel producer ArcelorMittal, is planning to up its domestic and CIS sales in 2008, a representative of the mill told SteelOrbis during the SteelOrbis Spring 08 Conference and 58th IREPAS Meeting held in Istanbul on April 6-8.

The ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih official said that in 2008 the mill plans to raise its domestic sales to 1.8 million metric tons and its sales to the CIS to 1.2 million metric tons. Such optimistic estimates are based on the strong market situation, which is supported by the booming construction sector. "We expect the market to continue to be strong, especially in the rebar sector, and therefore estimate a good year for steel sales", the mill's representative stated.
