ArcelorMittal Galati upgrades its plate mill

Global steelmaker ArcelorMittal's Romanian unit ArcelorMittal Galati has announced that it has invested €2 million in the complete modernization of the grinding machine in its plate mill No. 2, aimed at increasing product quality and boosting operational efficiency.
 
According to ArcelorMittal Galati, the German company Herkules carried out the complete modernization of the equipment which is now in the final testing phase. The new equipment has new electrical, mechanical and automation systems, which allow better rolling schemes and improved efficiency.
