ArcelorMittal Brazil orders new coke oven battery for Tubarão mill

Brazilian steelmaker ArcelorMittal Brazil has ordered a new coke battery for its Tubarão mill, located in the city of Vitória, Espírito Santo state. ThyssenKrupp will supply the equipment, which will replace an existing battery, the company said this week.

As a result of the new battery, the Tubarão mill, will produce 600,000 mt/year of coke. The mill produces slab, HRC, CRC, hot-dipped steel, among other products, with a combined 7.5 million mt/year capacity.

ThyssenKrupp said it will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the entire coke battery containing 49 coke ovens in total.
