Arcelor launches new flat service center U2S

The European steelmaker Arcelor's new flat products service center Usinor Stal Serwis has been launched in the Bytom, South of Poland. Currently 60% of the turnover concerns technical products and especially coated steels, focusing on the automotive and white household industries. Adding a multi-blanking line is included in the plans, in addition to the existing slitting line, already in operation. The major supply is expected to come from German Eko-Stahl, which is increasing its sales to the Central and Eastern Europe. Eko-Stahl is located close to the Polish border of Germany. Furthermore, the service center is intending to supply southern Poland as well as the Moravian area in the Czech Republic.
