Apollo Minerals inks MoU with Flinders Ports for port services

Australia-based iron ore explorer and developer Apollo Minerals announced on May 29 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Flinders Ports Pty Ltd, which operating seven ports in South Australia, to investigate optimal port export services for up to 2.5 million mt per year of iron ore exports from the company's Commonwealth Hill iron project.

Apollo intends to use the port services MoU to secure up to 2.5 million mt per year capacity at either Port Adelaide or Port Pirie for exports of iron ore products.

The company also said that it plans to investigate the possibility of commissioning an iron ore export facility in a location away from the town centre of Port Pirie, which would enable the expansion of the facility to 20 million mt per year and beyond.
