Annual output of steel industry in Sichuan to reach RMB 350 billion by 2020

The Industry and Information Technology Commission of China's Sichuan Province has issued a notice concerning implementation of upgrading measures to improve quality and enhance efficiency in the steel industry in the province. It stated that the total annual output of the steel industry in Sichuan will amount to RMB 350.0 billion ($51.3 billion) by 2020.

According to the notice, Sichuan Province will eliminate or implement capacity replacement for iron-smelting blast furnaces of 400 cubic meters or higher, for steelmaking converters of 30 mt or higher and for electric furnaces of 30 mt or higher.
