According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December the consumer price index (CPI) for Turkish industry in general increased by 0.74 percent month on month, while annual inflation increased to 11.84 percent from 10.56 percent recorded in November.
Among the main product groups, the highest month-on-month increase was seen in the food and soft drinks group with 2.93 percent, while the highest year-on-year increase was registered in alcoholic beverages and tobacco products with 43.12 percent.
