Amreli Steel Limited announced in a recent press release the third phase of an expansion plan for an additional state-of-the-art rolling mill at the Dhabeji special economic zone (SEC) at a cost of RS 6.5 billion PKR (US$48.5 million) to expand its rebar manufacturing facilities.

The company’s expansion of 500,000 mt in rolling capacity is slated to increase existing capacity from 605,000 mt to 1,105,000 mt annually, an 83 percent increase. Global firms have been invited to assess the technical feasibility of the recommended project. The increased capacity is planned to support a boom in housing projects and construction of two large dams in Pakistan.
