AK Steel announces April surcharge and price increase

According to the statement released from AK Steel, the company is increasing transactional prices of carbon steel products by $150 per ton to be in effect as of May 1, 2004. Moreover, April surcharge on carbon steel products is determined as $97 per ton. The price increase and the surcharge implementation are stated to have been effected due to rising raw material and energy costs. AK Steel adjusts surcharges monthly in relation with the cost of raw material cost since the beginning of January 2004.
