AHMSA sees increased revenues in Q4 2013 but still suffers net loss

The launch of the Fénix project boosted the EBITDA of Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) in the fourth quarter of 2013, reaching US$116 million--120 percent more than the US$52.1 million recorded in the same quarter of 2012.

In its report submitted to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), the company's revenue in the fourth quarter reached US$747 million, 4 percent more than the US$718 million in the same period of 2012.

However, its net loss in the last three months of 2013 increased to reach US$81 million, twice the amount they had in the similar period a year earlier, which was US$40.3 million.
