African Minerals to issue new shares at LSE’s AIM

African Minerals, a mineral exploration company with significant interests in Sierra Leone, announced on March 10 that 133,333 common shares of US$0.01 each have been issued and allotted pursuant to the exercise of share options.

Application has been made for the new shares to be admitted to trading and these will rank the same with the company's existing common shares.  Admission of the shares to the AIM, the London Stock Exchange's international market for growing companies, is expected to occur on March 16, 2010.

Following the issuance of the new shares, African Minerals will have 233,822,987 common shares in issue.
