AD duties on various Mexican steel imports set to expire soon, government invites requests for review

The Mexican government published a calendar on the next expirations of antidumping duties on steel imports from Korea, China, Italy, Japan, Russia and Kazakhstan, inviting interested parties to request a sunset review.

On December 31, 2023, countervailing duties expire on imports of cold rolled coil (tariff fractions 7209.16.01, 7209.17.01 and 7225.50.91) imported from South Korea. The deadline for companies to notify their interest in the Ministry of Economy starting the sunset review expires on November 8, 2023.

The expiration date for seamless steel pipe from China expires on January 8, 2024 and the deadline to request the sunset review expires on November 14, 2023. The product corresponds to tariff items 7304.19.01, 7304.19. 04, 7304.19.99, 7304.31.01, 7304.31.10, 7304.31.99, 7304.39.01, 7304.39.10, 7304.39.11 and 7304.39.99.

Before March 21, 2024, interested parties must request the government for a sunset review of imports of sheet steel plate from Italy and Japan. The tariff numbers of the product are 7208.51.04, 7208.52.01 and 7225.40.91.

The countervailing duties on imports of cold rolled sheet from Russia and Kazakhstan end their period of validity on June 30, 2024, for which interested parties must express their interest in the start of the sunset review until May 23, 2024. The product is imported through tariff items 7209.16.01 and 7209.17.01.
