2.25 million mt of steel capacity to be eliminated in Shanxi in 2018

The government of the Chinese province of Shanxi has announced that it plans to eliminate 2.25 million mt of steelmaking capacity in 2018. Accordingly, in the cities of Changzhi and Yuncheng it will eliminate 1.55 million mt and 0.7 million mt of steelmaking capacity respectively, including one 60 mt converter and one 35 mt converter in Changzhi and one 40 mt converter in Yuncheng city.
