Turkish welded pipe prices decrease

Although activity in the local Turkish welded pipe market has accelerated slightly after Ramadan holiday, activity is still weak since buyers prefer to make bookings only to meet their immediate needs. Meanwhile, Turkish pipe producers have reduced their welded pipe offers for their domestic market by $15/mt week on week, since Turkish producers’ offers for hot rolled coil (HRC) - which is used as feedstock in steel pipe production - decreased by $10/mt during the past two weeks, and also due to weak demand.

Accordingly, Turkish ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to the domestic market are in the range of $480-510/mt ex-works.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish welded pipe is still weak in export markets due to the slackness of activity amid summer season. Thus, Turkish producers’ welded pipe export offers have decreased by $35/mt week on week to $450-490/mt FOB.
